Step 1. Audit
The first step is to undertake an audit to establish the current level of usability of your database. The output of the audit will be a detailed report identifying the current state in each existing data field. Based on this, recommendations will be provided on enrichment of the data in the existing fields plus enhancement with additional fields, based on your individual business needs and opportunities. The audit will also enable us to confirm the final cost of the Pure Data Solution.
Step 2. Cleanse
The Cleanse process involves:
• Deduping. This is merging or removing identical data points. Duplicates often result when multiple data sources are amalgamated, such as when companies or systems merge or in a poor data migration process when a new system is implemented. For example, there may be three identical customer records in your database. This may result in that customer receiving the same communication three times, the size of your database being overstated, and reduction of ROI.
• Validation. This is the process of checking your data matches the data rules. Data values entered that do not match the rules are rejected. Invalid data often occurs when multiple users enter data. For example, invalid data would be entry of date of birth in a format outside the format rules or entering a date that means the user does not meet a minimum age rule.
• Verification. This involves running data against an additional dataset to check for accuracy. Inaccurate data typically results when customer details change and are not updated. In our Data Cleanse + Enrich + Enhance process, verification will typically occur using one or more external datasets (for example the Australia Post National Change of Address (NCOA) database). Data such as email addresses and mobile numbers are pinged to verify they are valid.
• Formatting. This means standardising the format of data to ensure it is consistent and easy to work with in mass. Inconsistencies often arise from differences in units of measurement, category values or other non-standardised attributes. For example, if addresses were entered differently across different customer records (such as Unit 9 / 56 Tree TCE, Holcim, QLD, 4999 versus 9,56 Tree Terrace HOLCIM Q 4999) formatting would be required so that records are consistent and usable.
Step 3. Enrich
This step involves adding to the existing data (appending), filling in gaps across the current fields and attributes to improve the overall data usability and value. This is achieved using datapoints from multiple external sources to create a new dataset that is up-to-date (up-to-the-minute the process is completed), accurate and highly usable. All our data sources are clean-source, meaning they are reliable and legal.
Step 4. Enhance
In this step you have the option to enhance your data with additional fields (attributes) that will increase the usability and value of your data overall by creating a fuller customer picture; enabling you to perform powerful segmentation and build out detailed customer personas.
Step 5. Maintain
Like any asset, it's essential to implement a maintenance program to protect the value and usability of your customer and lead data. We'll recommend the ideal maintenance schedule based on factors such as your database size, and the nature and number of fields it includes.
At the audit step, your data will be transferred via a secure link (SFTP or MFTP). Once the data cleanse + enrich + enhance steps have been completed, your data will be available for you to download via the secure link, before being permanently deleted.

The Pure Data Solution process does not require us to access any part of your technology system. You upload a copy of your database to be cleansed, enriched and enhanced to a secure link (SFTP or MFTP) or API in some cases. All data is encrypted. Once your data has been audited, cleansed, enriched and enhanced it will be available for you to download via secure link. You can then upload it to your technology system. Your data will only remain available for you to download for a period of time. After the set time it will be permanently deleted.
